悲しい名前の地名の地図を淡々と投稿するアカウント、ということで早速見てみました。

見てみると確かに悲しい地名ばかり。
じゃぁ・・そういうところにingressのポータルはあるのか？検証してみましょう。
Gizmodeの記事中で紹介されている地名からチェックします。
失望の島 (Disappointment Island, New Zealand)
ニュージーランドの島、その名も「失望の島」。

あら。いきなりポータルなし。
死んだ犬の島 (Dead Dog Island, Killarney, Canada)
こちらはカナダの「死んだ犬の島」。

隣にはリトルピッグ島、というこれまた動物にちなんだ名前の島がありますが、形がほんとに豚みたい・・。
そしてポータルはゼロ。
憂鬱の池 (Depression Pond, Dover U.S)
憂鬱の池・・・ふらふらと飛び込んでしまいそうな・・・あんまり近寄りたくないですね。
またもポータルゼロ。

歩きたくないなぁ・・・この山道。
そしてポータルはやっぱりありません。

まぁingressのポータルもそんなあちこちにあるわけでもないですし、
またここまでの地名は島や池、山道などと、あまり人が小なさそうな所なのでポータルが無いのも無理は無いかもしれません。
じゃぁ人工物ならどうだ？ということでこちらをチェックしてみました。
自殺の橋 (Suicide Bridge, Hurlock, U.S.)
うーん、どうしてこういう名前にしちゃったのかなぁ・・・橋ということは人工物なので「昔から」とかって話でもないし。
そしてintelmapを見てみました。
おっ！ポータルがあった！
・・・けど白ポータル・・・。
そしてポータルの名前を見てみると・・・

まさかの「Suicide Bridge Restrant」(自殺橋レストラン）！
名前が適当かと思ったら看板もそうなってる！！！
そのレストランが一番悲しい名前のポータルかと。
